Suddenly, the whole world is pushed online to continue formal learning, forcing many educators to think about what future learning would be like.
In order to introduce Indonesia Open University or Universitas Terbuka (UT) and optimize UT student services abroad, UT Rector, Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D., accompanied by Head of the Center for Overseas Student Management or Pusat Pengelolaan Mahasiswa Luar Negeri (PPMLN), Dra.
Universitas Terbuka (UT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) at the Council Hall, Allama Iqbal Open University (Friday, 10/18/2019). The MoU was a follow-up to several meetings between the two parties. The agreement was signed by the UT Rector Prof. Ojat Darojat, M. Bus., Ph.D with Bibi Yasmin as Additional Registrar of AIOU.
At the 33rd Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) conference held on October 14-16, 2019 at Pearl Continental Hotel, Lahore, Universitas Terbuka (UT) Rector Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D was elected as the President of the AAOU period 2020-2023 by acclamation through the General Body Meeting on October 15, 2019. Afterward, Prof. Ojat directly appointed Rahmat Budiman, M.Hum., Ph.D.
Furthering the meeting in Da Nang, Vietnam on 17-28 March 2019, in order to enhance distance learning cooperation in Asia, Indonesia Open University or Universitas Terbuka (UT) hosted the meeting of Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) on Accreditation Task Force, Book Writing of Distance Education in Asia and Postgraduate Program held in Surabaya on 23-26 July 2019.
Indonesia and Timor Leste have a very special relationship as both countries geographically share their land borders and therefore they have many similarities, in terms of social, culture, and religion. The official language spoken in Timor Leste is Tetun Portugese Language, and yet most Timor Leste population use Indonesian Language in their daily life.
In line the main mission of Indonesian Open University (UT) which provides the access and equal distribution of higher education for all Indonesian people, including those who live abroad, UT has established cooperation with Ministry of Foreign Affairs under Memorandum of Understanding which was signed on 7 February 2012.
In order to develop distance learning, Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) visited Indonesia Open University (UT) at the Plenary Room Rectorate Building or Ruang Sidang Gedung Rektorat 1st Floor, Thursday (10/01/2019).
The President of Indonesian Open University or Universitas Terbuka, Professor Ojat Darojat, visited the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesian in Den Haag, the Netherlands on 6 December 2018. During the visit, the Indonesian Open University President was accompanied by Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Moh.
Rector of Indonesian Open University or Universitas Terbuka, Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D, accompanied by Vice President 1 and Coordinator for Protocol and International Affairs, attended Open Education Leadership Summit 2018 which was held at The Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, Paris, France on 3-4 December 2018. This activity is ICDE’s annual program.
