UT Hosted AAOU Meeting

Furthering the meeting in Da Nang, Vietnam on 17-28 March 2019, in order to enhance distance learning cooperation in Asia, Indonesia Open University or Universitas Terbuka (UT) hosted the meeting of Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) on Accreditation Task Force, Book Writing of Distance Education in Asia and Postgraduate Program held in Surabaya on 23-26 July 2019.

The meeting was attended by UT Rector, President of AAOU, UT Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Expert Staff for Academic Affairs of Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti), and a number of AAOU delegates from various countries, such as the Philippines, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The main agenda at this meeting is to discuss the development of accreditation standards and instruments, book writing, as well as designing the distance learning graduate programs in Asia.

The program started with the speech by UT Rector, Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D., President of AAOU, Prof. Dr. Melinda dp. Bandalaria., and Expert Staff for Academic Affairs of Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti), Prof. Dr. Paulina Pannen, M.Ls. It was then followed by the discussion in order to determine the concrete steps to stipulate AAOU accreditation standards and instruments as well as the book writing for the development of distance learning in Asia.
