Universitas Terbuka (UT) is the only state university that applies distance learning system (PJJ) with online pedagogic methods. In providing its services, UT has 39 regional offices or usually called UT’s Regional Office (UPBJJ-UT) which are located across Indonesia.
The celebration of the Indonesian Independence Day has been held online in the last two years. The pandemic has forced us to hold the flag hoisting ceremony and 17th August Independence Day in our own residents which the euphoria of the celebration is less festive as we all feel it.
As state university that implements distance education system (PJJ), Universitas Terbuka (UT) has its regional offices in order to reach out its students and provide education services across the country. Currently, there are 39 UT’s regional offices, which are usually referred Universitas Terbuka’s Regional Office (UPBJJ-UT).
The business visit by the delegates from Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) to Universitas Terbuka (UT) from 31 July to 6 August 2022 has been well acknowledged by so much knowledge and experience sharing as well as exchange of information in education as well as culture of both countries. Total 11 delegates from AIOU, namely Prof.
The collaboration that Universitas Terbuka (UT) has entered into is not established with local institutions but also formed with other organizations abroad. It relates to the UT’s vision to be a world’s class open and distance university (ODU). UT has formed partnership with foreign institutions that serve as the world’s class benchmark.
The mandate of the government of Indonesia in educating the nation and people is to produce highly competent, creative, independent human resources through distance and open learning system, and therefore, a number of institutions look to Universitas Terbuka in order to realize their target goals as mandate above.
Entering its 38th years anniversary, UT will remain committed and innovative in realizing the higher education mission for all. The expansion of accessibility for the education service is the main priority of UT consideration to serve the people both in Indonesia and overseas.
On Tuesday, 19 July 2022, Indonesia Cyber Education (ICE) Institute presented the 14th Cyber Education Forum (CEF) Universitas Terbuka (UT) with the theme on: “Smart Chatbot Education.” Cyber Education Forum (CEF) was held through Zoom meeting and video streaming live on Youtube UT-TV attended by Abdul Harith bin Hasan, M.Ed.
The Overseas Students Management Center of Universitas Terbuka (PPMLN-UT) held a Graduation Ceremony of UT-Hong Kong 2022 on Sunday, 17 July 2022 on Hybrid (online and offline). The Graduation Ceremony convened from BNI Hong Kong Building was also attended virtually by UT’s Rector, Prof.
As the pioneer of distance learning (PJJ) operation, Universitas Terbuka (UT) is ready to assist human resource (HR) capacity building by opening the access to higher education for the people of Indonesia, and simultaneously, promoting better Gross Enrollment Rate or Angka Partisipasi Kasar (APK) for higher education.
