UT Signed Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Regency of Bungo

Entering its 38th years anniversary, UT will remain committed and innovative in realizing the higher education mission for all. The expansion of accessibility for the education service is the main priority of UT consideration to serve the people both in Indonesia and overseas. With the vast coverage of accessibility and the support of 39 offices of UPBJJ-UT and 1 (one) Overseas Student Management Center, UT thus will continue to establish partnerships with various institutions from different sectors, including local government in order to promote the quality and capacity of human resources for the local communities.

One form of effort to promote and improve the programs of the government and community of the Regency of Bungo, on 19 July 2022 taking venue at UTCC (Universitas Terbuka Convention Center), the memorandum of understanding was signed by UT’s Rector represented by UT’s Vice Rector for Institutional Development and Partnership, Rahmat Budiman, M.Hum., Ph.D. and the Regent from the Government of the Regency of Bungo, H. Mashuri, S.P., M.E. The scope of the memorandum of understanding includes education sector, research, and community services as well as utilization of facilities and infrastructures of Distance Education.

In such opportunity, UT’s Vice Rector for Institutional Development and Partnership representing the Rector, expressed his gratitude and pride that UT has been trusted to contribute in the development of the includes program of the government and the people of Jambi, especially the Regency of Bungo. In his address, he said that with this cooperation then 141 villages in the Regency of Bungo are expected to send the village personnel and teachers to study with UT by fulfilling Past Learning Recognition or Rekognisi Pembelajaran Lampau (RPL). It means the program accumulates the period of service, work experience, training, as well as awards, so that they are no longer necessary to begin their study from semester 1. “May this partnership will increase the competence and qualification of the village personnel and improve human resources capacity in the Regency of Bungo,” said Mister Rahmat.

In the meantime, the Regent of Bungo, H. Mashuri, S.P., M.E., in his speech, expressed his highest appreciation to UT as well as thanked for the partnership that has been established thus far. In line with Vice Rector’s address, the Regent also said the same remarks. “May other agreement and cooperation follow after the signing in order to promote the competence and qualification of village personnel as well as to improve the capacity of human resources in the Regency of Bungo,” expressed the Regent of Bungo.
