Committee of Lake Toba Communities And Universitas Terbuka Signed Memorandum of Understanding  

In order to improve the quality and capacity of Human Resources (HR) through the implementation of Three Principles of Higher Education Institutions or Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, the Committee of Lake Toba Communities or Komite Masyarakat Danau Toba (KMDT) and Universitas Terbuka (UT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

The signing of such Memorandum of Understanding was executed coinciding with the National Workshop and Meeting of Rapat Kerja Nasional (Rakernas) I of the Committee of Lake Toba Communities (KMDT) at Labersa Hotel on Friday, 09 April 2021. The National Workshop was virtually opened by the Spokesperson of the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI), Bambang Soesatyo.

In this opportunity, UT would grant 100 scholarships to KMDT which will be used in the efforts to improve resource quality improvement (capacity building) in eight regencies within the vicinity of Lake Toba.

The President of KMDT, Edison Manurung, highly appreciated Indonesia Open University’s efforts that quickly responded to the HR capacity building issues in the region dan expressed his gratitude for the scholarships granted, and in the mean time, UT’s Rector, Ojat Darojat, fully supports the HR capacity building, especially in the areas surrounding the Lake Toba, in particular, and North Sumatera, in general.
