Celebrating its 31st anniversary, the Alumni Association of Indonesia Open University or Ikatan Alumni Universitas Terbuka (IKA UT) organized a webinar, titled "Harmony in Diversity To Realize National Brotherhood Based on Just and Fair Economy or Harmoni Dalam Keberagaman Mewujudkan Kerukunan Nasional Berbasis Ekonomi Yang Berkeadilan". The peak of the celebration was held on Friday, 26 March 2021, at Universitas Terbuka Convention Center (UTCC) Building, Tangerang Selatan. The event was attended by President of the IKA-UT Jenderal TNI (Purn) Dr. H. Moeldoko, M.Si., and the executive board of IKA UT, UT’s Rector, Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D., together with the high-rank officials of Indonesia Open University Headquarter. The event was also attended by Prof. Ir. Tian Belawati, M.Ed., Ph.D., UT’s Rector of 2013-2017, as well as Ir. The President of the IKA-UT, in his remarks, reminded us that getting old for an organization is not the same as getting old for a man. The older a man is, the more vulnerable and forgettable he will become. On the other hand, for an organization, the older it is, the stronger, more vigorous, and more popular it will be for the people. The same thing is expected from the IKA-UT, provided, that it is managed by competent persons who are able to adapt to and follow the current development and dynamic conditions as well as value the differences in diversity. The Chairman of IKA UT appreciates UT’s roles as it is the leading university in Open Distance Learning system or PJJ (Pendidikan Jarak Jauh) in Indonesia and calls the people not to hesitate to pursue higher education at UT. Apart from that, the Chairman of the -UT reminded us of the importance of college and university’s roles to collaborate with the government in order to improve the quality and values in various sectors as the government would not be able to do it alone.

Moreover, UT’s Rector gave a welcoming remark which began with congratulating the IKA-UT for its 31st anniversary. Prof. Ojat hopes that the University’s cooperation with the government would be maintained harmoniously and synergically in order to improve the quality of Indonesia’s human resources. UT’s Rector also appreciates IKA UT’s contribution to UT and expects that the cooperation will always continue in order to fulfill the mandate from the Indonesian government to provide services in Open Distance Learning, particularly for those living in remote areas where, geographically, access is not easy.

As the hallmark of the event, the President of IKA-UT presented traditional coned rice or nasi tumpeng to the UT’s Rector and Chairperson for Entrepreneurship of Ministry of Cooperatives Associations and Small and Medium Enterprises (Kemenkop UKM) of the Republic of Indonesia. A number of national prominent figures also virtually congratulated the institution for its anniversary, including the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2004-2009 and 2014-2019, Jusuf Kalla, and the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo.

In the webinar, Madam Victoria presented her materials very comprehensively. In her presentation, Madam Victoria explained a number of policies that the government has stipulated through Ministry of Cooperatives Associations and Small and Medium Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia in responding to the challenges in the development of entrepreneurship, especially for prospective entrepreneurs.
