UT and BRI Enhance Collaboration in the Latest Banking Services

The alliance between Universitas Terbuka (UT) and PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia Persero Tbk. (BRI) is further strengthened as they collaborate to enhance banking services. Although UT and BRI are two separate entities, their shared mission is to serve the Indonesian population, including those residing in remote areas from Sabang to Merauke.

A significant step in this partnership was marked by the signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) concerning the Provision and Utilization of Banking Services. The MoU was signed by Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D., the Rector of UT, and Mr. Agus Noorsanto, the Wholesale and Institutional Director of BRI. Additionally, both parties also signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to implement Virtual Account and Cash Card services at UT. This MoA was signed by Prof. Dr. Ali Muktiyanto, M.Si., Vice-Rector for Finance, Resources, and General Affairs of UT, and Mr. Muhammad Chandra Utama, the Division Head of BRI's Institutional Business Division.

The MoU outlines their joint efforts to meet UT's operational needs, while the MoA represents UT's commitment to utilizing BRI's Cash Card and Virtual Account facilities for improved services and enhanced convenience in transactions involving all stakeholders.

Speaking to journalists, Prof. Ojat Darojat highlighted that this recent signing aims to fortify the existing cooperation between UT and BRI, especially in facilitating banking services for UT students and employees. The strategic alignment between the two institutions, characterized by their extensive networks reaching far and wide across Indonesia, has resulted in various successful banking service programs involving BRI.

Mr. Agus Noorsanto acknowledged the longstanding partnership between BRI and UT, extending back to 1989 when he joined the bank. He commended UT's remarkable progress, particularly in sustaining growth even amidst the challenges of the pandemic. He expressed gratitude for UT's trust in BRI as a reliable banking partner.

Through this latest agreement, both UT and BRI aspire to strengthen their collaboration with a shared vision of benefiting the Indonesian populace. The partnership is geared towards empowering the nation through enhanced human resources competencies fostered by quality higher education.
