Synergize through the Management Review Meeting

Universitas Terbuka (UT) as a university that consistently implements an internal quality assurance system, periodically conducts a Management Review Meeting (RTM) in the field of Distance Learning Management. In 2019, RTM was held on October 21st to 26th 2019 at the Melia Purosani Hotel, Yogyakarta, with the theme "Strengthening the Capacity and Quality of Services, Increasing Community Satisfaction". The purpose of conducting RTM is to review the results of the implementation of the quality management system within a certain time frame with leader’s presence. RTM was attended by leaders from the Central UT and 39 Distance Learning Program Units (UPBJJ-UT) throughout Indonesia, 48 central UT leaders and 117 UPBJJ-UT leaders to be precise. In addition, the RTM was also attended by the Deputy Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Sri Paduka Paku Alam X, Mayor of Yogyakarta, who was represented by the Expert Staff for Social Welfare Ir. Haryoyudho, as well as the Head of the Yogyakarta Special Education, Youth and Sports Department.

At the 35th anniversary or Lustrum VII, UT continues to develop its role as a cyber university. In line with UT's 35th main theme, RTM in 2019 raised the theme "Strengthening the Capacity and Quality of Services, Enhancing Community Satisfaction". This theme is very relevant to the 2019 UT milestone, namely strengthening community acceptance of the existence of UT (strengthening society acceptance of UT). UT as a pioneer of open and distance education is demanded to continue to modernize itself through capacity building and improvement of service quality in an effort to realize and strengthen the nation's connectivity. Various attempts have been made by UT to increase the capacity and quality of education services. UT is demanded to continue to make breakthroughs and innovations to succeed the government program in terms of increasing the Gross Enrollment Rate.

Some of the strategic programs currently being developed by UT in order to expand access and increase educational outreach are:

· Future students can apply for online courses by partner universities through the Independent Course Program (PMKM). The signing of the collaboration has been carried out including with: University of Indonesia (UI), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Sumatra Institute of Technology (ITERA), State University of Yogyakarta (UNY), State University of Semarang (UNNES), State University of Makassar (UNM), State University of Malang (UM), Ganesha Educational University (UNDIKSHA), State Polytechnic of Madiun (PNM), and State Polytechnic of Bandung(POLBAN);

· Development of national courses that will be offered nationally for all students in higher education institutions;

· Opening Undergraduate program in Tourism, Master program in Environmental Studies, Doctor of Management program & a Doctor of Public Administration program with a remote system.

In addition, UT is preparing and reviewing the mandate of the government that directs UT to change the status from a Public Service Agency to a State University with Legal Entity.
