Hosting Kazan Federal University’s Visit, UT Ready To Collaborate

In developing the learning system, Universitas Terbuka (UT) collaborates with both local and foreign universities or institutions. UT hosted a visit by a Russian university, Kazan Federal University (KFU), at the Plenary Meeting Room of the Rectorate Building on Friday (17/02/2022). Present at the meeting were UT’s Rector, Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D.; Vice Rector for International Partnership from Kazan University, Dr. Alishev Timirkhan Bulatovich; UT’s Vice Rector for Institutional Development and Partnership, Mister Rahmat Budiman, M.Hum., Ph.D.; Director of the Center for the Development of International Relations and Partnership, Dr. Maya Maria, S.E., M.M., and one of KFU alumni from Indonesia, Syauqy Arinal Haqq.

Prof. Ojat warmly welcomed the visiting KFU staff members to collaborate in the field of education, endorsing the programs of the Indonesian Ministry of Education Culture Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), namely Freedom to Study-Independent Campus or Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). UT has collaborated with other foreign universities in open and distance education or ODE.

During the visit, Dr. Alishev expressed his anticipation for the cooperation between KFU and UT. He explained that KFU has also developed its own learning management system (LMS), which allows them to support online learning. KFU has four faculties, one of which offers the Russian Language study program for Indonesia.

As a result of the meeting, both parties agreed to perform the exchange of lecturers from both universities. Before concluding their visit, Dr. Alishev and his entourage were given the opportunity to tour the premises of the UT’s headquarters.
